Extend your marketing reach with awareness days

As a vacation rental business getting the most reach on your social media posts can help you to get new customers. Everyday there is something new trending on these channels but how do you keep up with these trends?

Awareness days are planned days where a cause is being highlighted on social media. Examples of these are World Tourism Day or World Photo Day. Each of the days have a meaning but some of them will easily tie in to your holiday rental business. Planning your marketing for the next month or year knowing what days are coming up or general trends in a week can give your marketing a free boost.

One of the benefits of linking campaigns to awareness days is that it can aid your marketing goals. For example if a goal is to increase your audience on a social channel by x in 6 months you can reach new audiences by having a relatable posts to something which is trending. If this post on a social channel has a lot of interactions and shares it will give your the viral reach to new audiences to achieve your goals.

When positing on different social media platforms the three which use hashtags are Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. For these three social channels there is an optimal number of hashtags you should use to gain the most reach.

Facebook – 1 Hashtag
Instagram – 11 Hashtags
Twitter – 1-2 Hashtags

On Pinterest and Snapchat hashtags can raise awareness in campaigns of the brand specific hashtags. These platforms along with LinkedIn and Google+ are not built to use hashtags to extend your reach.
